Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. Here is how QuarkOrbit handles your data.

Last updated: March 2026

Information We Collect

QuarkOrbit collects minimal data necessary to operate: search queries for research discovery, location data (only when you explicitly use observation tools), and basic usage analytics. We do not require account creation or collect personal identifiers.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to deliver search results, generate AI-powered insights, and improve our tools. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit. Backend services run on secure cloud infrastructure. API keys and credentials are stored as encrypted environment variables, never in source code.

Third-Party Services

QuarkOrbit integrates with external APIs (arXiv, NASA, GitHub, Semantic Scholar, OpenAlex, and others) to provide research data. When you use our tools, queries are sent to these services under their respective privacy policies. AI features use OpenRouter for processing.

Data Retention & Deletion

Search results and API responses are cached temporarily (30-60 minutes) to improve performance and are automatically deleted. We do not maintain persistent user profiles or long-term data storage of your queries.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any data we hold. Since we collect minimal data and do not require accounts, most interactions are anonymous by default.
